I Armenien tog det fyrre dage, og de finder sted for øjnene af os, mens vi følger den determinerede oppositionspolitiker Nikol Pashinyan i hans kamp mod landets korrupte regering. Nikol beslutter sig i påsken 2018 for at vandre gennem Armenien til hovedstaden for at samle støtter mod den siddende premierminister Serzh Sargsyan. En hjemløs hund gør ham selskab fra starten, og snart slutter flere og flere folk sig til dem. Med hjælp fra sociale medier, popsange, trafikblokader og landets studenter lykkes det Nikol at ændre historien og samle en folkebevægelse for forandring.

A simple man starts to march towards the capital in protest, and forty days later a corrupt government is overthrown.

How long does it take to overthrow a corrupt government? In Armenia, it took 40 days, and it takes place in front of our eyes as we follow the determined opposition politician Nikol Pashinyan in his struggle against the country’s corrupt government. In Easter 2018, Nikol decides to walk across Armenia to the capital, in order to gather support against the incumbent prime minister Serzh Sargsyan. A homeless dog accompanies him from the beginning, and soon more and more people join them. With the help of social media, pop songs, traffic blockades and the country’s students, Nikol manages to change history and bring about a people’s movement for change.
